I wanted to post about JFL last summer, because it was the best and I'm resisting spending all my money on going again this year.
Comedy>everything.
I was the most excited to meet Pete Holmes. But sadly nothing could live up to my expectation of meeting him. He was still great, and gracious, but not exactly what I expected. ok maybe I should expand. I stood at the back of a long line of fans waiting to meet him after his live podcast. The room was totally silent and you could hear what each person was saying to him. so awkward for the person talking. Each person told him how much he means to them. You can't expect someone who means something to you (and who is also famous and does not know you) to feel like you mean anything to them. Get it? You love Pete Holmes sure, but Pete Holmes doesn't know you. So any connection you made to him, (and believe me, I felt a big connection) it's one-sided dummy! I credit Pete Holmes with influencing my decision to become a sex therapist. His openness around sex, sexuality and relationships inspired me. Great guy, funny, wish him all good things.
I also got to stay with my brother and visit the McGill campus where he goes to school and works and also does sex therapy. Weird family, i know.

Other highlights included
-Watching Noel Fielding be freaking incredible
-Walking by Marc Maron and Dave Attell having coffee in the street in the morning and not losing my mind
-Ari Shaffir's this is not happening show- so many amazing comics
-Seeing Brody Stevens in Kiehl's and being too nervous to talk to him
-Joe Mande (F*#k Lacroix)
-Ron Funches, after dragging my much too busy brother to his show, he is definitely a fan now
Everything was just incredible. A+++++ comedy > everything
